“Stayed last weekend at Carradales and our visit was without fault. Maurice and Steve are the perfect hosts and did everything they could to make our visit memorable. The rooms were immaculate and the facilities second to none. We often visit Carradale and Carradales will be our place of choice to stay from now on. Breakfast was exceptional and our only regret is that we didn’t get to sample the evening meals because we were attending an event. Anyone visiting Carradale should look no further than Carradales for a comfortable, elegant and enjoyable stay.”
“We spent a thoroughly enjoyable two nights here and this was down to the great care the owners put into looking after their guests. Maurice and Steve greeted us on arrival and showed us to our beautifully decorated room. The ensuite was spacious, excellent powerful shower and lovely roll top bath (which I made ample use of). Everything was immaculately clean and well presented – and the bed was so comfy, best night’s rest we have had for a long time! There were lots of nice touches around the guest house, telescope for astronomers, interesting Victorian pieces, books etc Steve, who takes care of feeding their guests, certainly knows his craft. Both of us are vegetarian, so we’re used to making do in many places but Steve was having none of it : ) He took great pains to make sure we got exactly what we like for breakfast – plenty of fresh fruit, yoghurt, juice, cereal and poached eggs done to perfection! We stayed there for our evening meal – Steve took the time to find out what we would enjoy so it was almost like having our own personal chef – I’m not very adventurous with food yet I loved every course. We were very happily surprised at the bill for our time there. I’ve been in many establishments which charged way more but did not come anywhere close to the service Maurice and Steve provided. They were attentive without being intrusive, friendly and informative about the area and very clearly complement each other in their business. The next time we’re in Carradale this will definitely be our first choice.”
“My wife and a friend were asking the Kintyre way, whilst I indulged in some golf and the occasional walk. We stayed two nights at Carradale guest house. Beautifully renovated, with elegance and a classy feel to the house. Maurice and Steve are wonderful hosts, and genuinely very nice people. This is a classy retreat, but not overbearing in any respect. Steve provides some excellent food, all served in a relaxed manner. Spoil yourself, and stay here. You won’t be disappointed.”
“Had a two night stay here. What can I say ? Lovely lovely couple who make you feel welcome from minute you walk in , the chef is outstanding and the shortbread he makes himself is just exceptional!!! Lovely food lovely place to stay and above all lovely people. The chef is a character and great laugh. Maurice is host and a very good one at that. Will be back. Good lock in the future. YES I’m away with your shortbread !!! You really truly need to sell the shortbread I would come back just for that 😉 Thanks for letting us stay in Argyll doesn’t least one night here.”

“From the moment Maurice opened the door with a welcoming smile ,we knew we were somewhere special and we were not wrong.Steve and Maurice are so enthusiastic about their new venture and rightly so.We were shown into a very comfortable sitting room where both Maurice and Steve took time to tell us about the history of the house.and were very interested in us.The meal,which was served in a small intimate dining room,was beautifully presented and tasted delicious.Afterwards,we were given a tour of the house which has been renovated to a very high standard. We finished the evening having coffee in the sitting room.A fitting end to a very memorable anniversary meal.”
“I visited Carradales as a group of 7 for an evening meal as a last minute thing. We were staying locally and were unable to source anywhere to eat. Having been given the phone number for Carradales, I called and was invited along where The owners fell over themselves to accommodate us.We effectively got “pot luck” but, given the quality of the place, that pot luck consisted of fresh salmon, quails eggs, prawns and other locally sourced, delicious and beautifully presented food.We were made to feel welcome and the owners worked hard to ensure we had a pleasant meal. I have to say that we were all bowled over by the welcome we got and the quality of food and service was outstanding.I can do nothing else than rate Carradales as highly as possible and would recommend that it is easily worth the trip off the beaten track.”

Carradales is a thoroughly relaxing, calming retreat surrounded by beautiful countryside along with a pretty harbour and a sandy coastline. You are welcomed and looked after by both Steve and Maurice into a beautifully restored Victorian, a very special retreat for those who want to relax or for those who want to experience some exhilarating walks.
